TactiCall system has quality, performance recognised by certification23 Mar 2017The Airwave certificate allows Saab to install and operate the TactiCall Dispatcher products at any UK customer using Airwave. Defence and security company Saab received an important certification for the TactiCall Dispatcher system. The solution, which integrates all control room communications, regardless of radios, frequency and hardware, was successful in a test where it was used in conjunction with TETRA radio network of the Britain's Airwave - the world's largest private operator of public safety nets. Every emergency service in Great Britain, like police, fire and ambulance, relies on Airwave's communications network and services. The Airwave certificate allows Saab to install and operate the Dispatcher products at any UK customer using Airwave. TactiCall Dispatcher is part of the SAFE solution that will go into operation in England later this year. The solution is, in essence, a communication client supporting control room dispatchers in their workflow; planning tasks as well as emergencies, and coordinating operations for the resources in the field. The Dispatcher can be delivered standalone, or, as is the case in the UK, be integrated into a parent platform - in this case, SAFE. "Our first 'live' installation is expected in the weeks ahead at Cheshire Constabulary Police, equipping two control rooms and 150 operator positions serving 2 000 police officers. Warwickshire & West Mercia Police will follow soon after," says Peter John, product manager, Saab in Denmark. The certification opens up new markets; manufacturing plants, chemical processing, mining operations, road maintenance, ports and harbours, power line maintenance, and public events. The plan is to certify and test the safety network, SINE TETRA, in Denmark, and similar networks in other regions. Technical specifications The TactiCall Dispatcher Suite can be utilised as a standalone solution, or fully integrated into existing Command & Control, Computer Aided Dispatch or similar systems. The distributed architecture scales from a single workstation to multi-centre nationwide deployment, and eliminates single points of failure. The operator has full use of all radio communication and dispatch functionality. TactiCall Dispatcher is optimised for organisations with a central dispatch function - police, ambulance, fire, rescue, roadside rescue, or security guarding.
